Jean Nanney 84, died peacefully at home, as was her wish, on July 22, 2016.
A Virginia resident for 84 years and longtime member of Brentwood Baptist Church, Jean was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Lenoir, N.C. to Lacy Moore and Alice Ann Bryant. She recently was preceded in death by her brother, Barry Moore and daughter in-law, Lisa Nanney.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 50 years, Michael W. Nanney; daughter, Cindy Harrison (Dan); daughter, Connie Bruss (Derek); son, Woodie Nanney; sister, Fay Perkins; grandchildren, Jason Harrison, Susan Strickland and Allison Harrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Robert Fletcher Mann, M.D. for 40 years of care and caring!
A memorial service will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach, Blvd., Norfolk, Va., preceded by a visitation from noon to 1 p.m.
