Raymond Lester Darden, 88, musician and retired NARF general foreman of aircraft

Raymond Lester Darden, 88, died Saturday, May 28, 2016, at his home.

He was born in Norfolk and retired from NARF as a general foreman of aircraft. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, an avid musician and attended Foundry United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Coreta Darden; two daughters, Patricia J. White, and her husband, Jimmy, of Chesapeake and Janie Darden Guffie, and her husband, Tony, of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Tim White, Jonathan White, Kevin Guffie and Leslie Clark; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, June 1, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, with the Rev. Patricia Riggs officiating services. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Drive, Norfolk, VA 23502.
