
Carmilia ‘Carrie’ Nido Cistola, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016, in Chester. She was a native of Ellwood City, Pa., and later moved to Virginia Beach, where she resided for 60 years.
She loved being a wife, mother and homemaker, and she was active in the Catholic Church. Carrie was an excellent cook, and her home was always open to family and friends. She never knew a stranger. Carrie’s kindness impacted many lives, and she will be fondly remembered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Cistola; eldest son, Alfred Cistola; and brother, Michael Nido.
She is survived by her children, Thomas, Daniel and Edward Cistola and Carolyn Cistola Coleman; brother, Arthur Nido; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Carmilia believed her greatest gifts from God were her children and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Esteban DeLeon officiating. A burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
