Crawford L. Braswell, 88, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. Born in Bethel, N.C., he resided in Virginia Beach. He retired from the U.S. Army and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Mr. Braswell was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; parents, Frank and Katie; brother, Drew; and sisters, Lily and Kadell.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Jones of Marion, Iowa; grandson, Elijah Jones Jr. and family of Yigo, Guam; sister, Velma Peoples of Gambrills, Md.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
A service of remembrance will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
