Ronald Freedman Osborn, 79, US Navy veteran who served during Vietnam, Korea, Cuban Missile Crisis

Ronald Freedman Osborn, of Virginia Beach, died Oct. 8, 2015, with his loving wife and son by his side. He was 79.

He was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, son of the late Teresa and Leroy Osborn.

Mr. Osborn served in the U.S. Navy for over 22 years during the Vietnam and Korean Wars and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Once he retired from the military, Ronald began working as a mechanic for Virginia Iron and Metal. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing with his friends. He also had a passion for boats, cars and going to the race track, which is where he proposed to his wife. Ronald was very knowledgeable in mechanics and was always willing to lend a hand to those who needed his assistance. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Beverly Osborn; son, Rickie Osborn, of New Jersey; and sister, Pat Ann Cicalese, of New Jersey.

A private graveside service was held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery in Suffolk.
