Evelyn Tate, of Yorktown, died Sept. 27, 2015, at the age of 55.
Evelyn was a native of Wurzburg, Germany and former resident of southern California and Tennessee before moving to the Peninsula in 1989. She was a member of Grafton Baptist Church and a devoted mother and grandmother.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Tooley; a son, Dennis “Tony” Anthony Tate Jr.; and a brother Rainer.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Rediker (Erik), of Yorktown; a sister, Lorriane Rainey Dinkelacker; brothers, Eddie Sigler, Leonard Sigler and Michael Sigler; and grandchildren, Thomas Leo Tate and Dennis Anthony Tate III.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at Grafton Baptist Church, 5440 George Washington Memorial Highway. The family will receive friends following the service.
