Clyde Benjamin Whiteman, of Yorktown, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the age of 63.
Clyde was born in Portsmouth and was a Peninsula resident since 1988. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of faithful service to his country. After his retirement he was employed with Graftex of Yorktown for 17 years. He was a member of the YMCA.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Ruth Whiteman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yueh; son, Clyde B. Whiteman Jr., of Yorktown; daughters, Patricia Whiteman, of Ohio and Susanne Geimer and her husband Tray, of Hampton; sister, Audrey Renninger, of North Carolina; half-brothers, Warren Whiteman, of Texas and William Whiteman, of Korea; niece, Tina Johnson, of Chesapeake; nephew, Chad Hill, of Portsmouth; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Amory Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
