Lawrence ‘Larry’ Jackson, 93, WWII US Navy veteran who served 26 years with civil service

Lawrence “Larry” Jackson, of Williamsburg, died Aug. 27, 2015, at Hospice and Support Care of Williamsburg. He was 93.

He was born on Aug. 9, 1922, son of the late Harry and Sarah Brown Jackson, in New York City. Mr. Jackson was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and served 26 years with civil service.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of  66 years, Betty Hill Jackson; daughters, Pattie (Larry) Wolf, of Littleton, Colorado and Mary Ann (Steve) Forrest, of Chesapeake; son, Bill Jackson, of Williamsburg; granddaughters, Sarah Feinman, of Denver and Stephanie Forrest, of Chesapeake; grandsons, Cody (Bessy) Wolf, of Littleton, Colorado and James Forrest, of Fairfax; great-grandsons, Mason Wolf and Wyatt Wolf; and great-granddaughter, Avery Wolf.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at St. Martins Episcopal Church in Williamsburg followed by a reception at First Colony Clubhouse. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
