William “Bill” D. Hamm Jr., of Williamsburg, died peacefully at his home on Feb. 5, 2015.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after over 40 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and UNC basketball fan.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Scott Hamm.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Doris W. Hamm; his granddaughter, Jordan Hamm; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Roth; and many other close family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Hampton Memorial Gardens with Pastor Buddy Chapman officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
