Ruth Sanborn Ayres, of Williamsburg, died Dec. 27, 2014, at Walter Reed Convalescent Center. She was 90.
Ruth was born March 13, 1924, in Connecticut to Homer and Katie Sanborn. After graduating high school and college she worked in advertising design and retail sales. She was a longtime resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Ruth enjoyed working in her garden, loved animals, had a keen eye for interior design and a deep appreciation of the military.
Ruth was kind and classy, had a great sense of humor, was well loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Glen Ayres; his father, George H. Ayres; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Ayres; grandsons, Evan and Ryan Ayres; and brother, H. Glen Sanborn; and extended family and friends.
Memorial services, officiated by the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial services will be held in Buckingham, Pennsylvania at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at Leaver – Cable Funeral Home.
