
William Henry “Bill” Gibson died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Morningside of Williamsburg. He was 94.
Bill was a native of Charlotte Courthouse and had been a Williamsburg resident since 1954. Mr. Gibson served in WWII in the 306th Hospital Corps and later retired from Lance, Inc. in 1982. He attended Grace Baptist Church.
He was preceded by his wife, Mildred “Bunny” Birch Gibson; his second wife, Naomi Riddle Gibson; and siblings, Florene, Roy, Robert, Bernice, Fred and Mary Lee.
Survivors include three sons, Michael A. Gibson and his wife, Edie, of Martin, Tennessee, William F. Gibson, of Newport News and John T. Gibson, of West Point; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; stepsons; and brother, Allen B. Gibson Jr. and his wife, Mildred.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at Nelsen Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Nelsen Funeral Home. Graveside services to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
