If you’re about to throw a party, stop. Consider: Claudia Cowal Tucker (you probably knew her as “Claud”) died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014. She was 79.
Her spirit is carried on by her four children, seven grandchildren and an extended family of relations and friends. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Claudia during her 79 years.
Claudia was born in Worcester, Mass. and lived in New England, California and Virginia.
Claudia attended the University of Massachusetts and had a career that spanned being an awesome stay-at-home mom, to real estate, as well working in the early days for the computer giant Digital Equipment Corporation.
She was active at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church in Williamsburg where she was a frequent volunteer.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Peter (wife, Ligaya, children, Alejandra and Keera); Heather (husband, Shawn, child, Rebecca); stepdaughter Lucinda Ann Dimmick (husband, Dan, children, Kimberly Ann and Charles); stepdaughter, Laura Elizabeth Hannegan (children, John and Megan); and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but certainly not forgotten. She loved and adored you all.
Claudia is reunited with her husband and favorite dance and travel partner, Dr. William E. Tucker, and was preceded in death by a brother.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 22, 2014, at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, 331 W Duke of Gloucester Street, Williamsburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House & Support Care of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg VA 23188.
Please leave online condolences for the family at Nelsen Funeral Home.
