Richard A. New, of Williamsburg, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at the age of 84.
He graduated from Matthew Whaley High School in 1950 and Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. He was a member of Smith Memorial Baptist Church and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Virginia A. New.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean New; son, Steve A. New, his wife, Miriam and their children, Tyler and Zachary; daughter, Trudy N. Waters, her husband, Michael and their children, Andy and David; his sisters, Eunice McMillian, of Pampa, Texas, Bernice Dutton and Lois Meadows, both of Norge; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Smith Memorial Baptist Church followed by burial at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
