Clifford Ellis Eachus, of Seaford, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the age of 90.
He was a native of Armbrust, Pa. and a Peninsula resident since 1961. He was a Korean War veteran and retired as chief warrant officer three from the U.S. Army in 1961 after 20 years of service. After retiring, Mr. Eachus worked for and retired from the City of Hampton as a maintenance supervisor . He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Benning, Ga., the Order of Eastern Star and Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Eachus; mother, Josephine Eachus Baird; and his wife of over 50 years, Crystal Fern Eachus.
He is survived by his devoted friend, Marie Lensbower, of Newport News; two brothers, Ronald Baird and wife, Dorothy and Donald Baird and their families, all of Pennsylvania; and nephew, Randy Stathers and wife, Gail of Seaford.
The family would like to thank Jennifer Dayes, Eric Murray, Kristin Pruitt, Doris Ricks and the staff of Home Helpers for their loving care these past few months. Additionally, they would like to thank Nora Gillespie and staff at Medi Home Health and Hospice for their care and support.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Amory Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. David Hampton. Masonic Rites will follow the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Beallsville Cemetery in Beallsville, Pa.
