Deaconess Suzanne J. Washington, of Williamsburg, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at her home. She was 93.
She was a former resident of the Magruder area of York County and was a longtime member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where she faithfully served in many capacities.
She was born Sept. 4, 1920, and was preceded in death by her parents, Susie and Isham, Johnson, Sr.
She is survived by her devoted husband, William H. Washington; brother, Daniel Johnson (Gloria); five sisters-in-law; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Family and friends will assemble by 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the church for a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. with Bishop William Dawson officiating.
