WILLIAMSBURG — Grit Coffee coming to its third market in Virginia as the brand plans to open its first coffee shop in Williamsburg in February.
The company’s ninth shop in the state will be the latest addition to Midtown Row and will be located at 100 College Road, Suite 2111.
With a target date for opening slated for mid-February, the company said the 2,000 square foot space will feature Grit’s warm mid-century modern design and serve coffee, espresso, tea, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries from local bakery Aromas daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We love the energy that comes from serving students in Charlottesville and Richmond, and we look forward to becoming a hub for the William & Mary community as well as the rest of the greater Williamsburg area,” said Brandon Wooten, Chief Brand Officer for Grit Coffee.
Founded in Charlottesville in 2008, Grit Coffee started with a vision, a little bit of grit, and a whole lot of coffee according to the company’s website. Since , Grit has developed an expansive roasting operation, an e-commerce business and a growing statewide presence with multiple locations in Central Virginia, including six in the Charlottesville area and two in Richmond.
It also brews, packages, and distributes canned and kegged cold brew under the Snowing In Space brand. The company said it searches out relationships with farmers worldwide to cultivate and roast coffees with craft and care.
Grit Coffee is owned by Bread & Table, a Charlottesville-based management company that specializes in building and growing food and beverage businesses.
