Oceanfront shooting injures man, woman

VIRGINIA BEACH — Police are investigating what may have led to a shooting at the Oceanfront that injured a man and a woman Saturday night.

Very few details were released about the incident, and authorities are asking those who may have witnessed the shooting or know what happened to call Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 888-LOCK-U-UP.

Officers were sent to the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue near the Dairy Queen at 10:54 p.m. to investigate a “firearms violation.”

When police arrived at the scene, they found ”two victims suffering from gunshot wounds,” according to a news release.

The man was seriously injured, and the woman had non-life-threatening injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital.

Information on their conditions was not immediately available.
