Deputies Identify Tabb Car Break-In Suspects

Investigators from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office are seeking two men in connection to several items stolen from vehicles in Tabb last month.

YPSO Lt. Dennis Ivey said 19-year-old Nijel Dudley and 23-year-old Quashawn Byrd, both of Newport News, are believed to have stolen items from 13 vehicles during the overnight hours between March 30 and 31. Several windows were broken out on the windows, and one was stolen, which has since been recovered.

Investigators have since identified Dudley and Byrd as suspects.

Warrants have been issued for Byrd’s arrest on three felony counts of grand larceny, one felony count of credit card fraud, one felony count of credit card theft, three counts of entering a vehicle, one felony count of attempted grand larceny one misdemeanor count of property damage. His last known address is on the 100 block of Rose Court in Newport News.

Dudley has warrants filed for three felony counts of grand larceny, two felony counts of larceny with intent to sell, one count petit larceny, nine counts misdemeanor property damage and six counts of entering a vehicle. His last known address was on the 800 block of 26th Street in Newport News.
