NEW KENT — The New Kent County Chamber of Commerce announced the return of “A Taste of New Kent,” its 13th annual wine and food festival to be held on Oct. 8.

The festival will feature multiple local and regional wine vendors. There are also several local craft breweries present, with $5 beer tickets available to purchase. Spirits, food, and music with a DJ and MC will also be featured.

New to the festival is the Rotary Club of New Kent Motor Fest Car Show slated to feature dozens of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Experience the sights and sounds of vehicles ranging from the elegant autos of yesteryear to the technologically advanced supercars of today, all while enjoying the rest of the festivities.

“A Taste of New Kent is the largest wine tasting event in New Kent County,” says festival chair and Chamber President Ericka Johnson.

Proceeds from the event go to support a variety of programs, including Local Boy Scout Troops, New Kent Fire Departments, Heritage Public Library, New Kent High School Scholarships, New Kent Sheriff’s Auxiliary, New Kent Schools, Eradication of Polio, Firewood Cutting Project, Proclaiming Grace Outreach Food Pantry, New Kent Animal Shelter, and other related educational ventures put on by the Chamber for New Kent businesses, residents, and recent graduates.

The Chamber and Rotary thanked C&F Bank, Colonial Downs and Rosie’s Game Emporium,  the signature sponsors for the event.

The event will take place on Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at a new location in
front of Colonial Downs Racetrack and Rosie’s. Tickets for the wine tasting are $35 if purchased in advance online and $45 at the gate. Tickets are also available for a reduced price online for non-tasting attendants.

More information and details to register a car for the car show can be found on the festival website.
