JAMES CITY COUNTY — The James City County (JCC) Fire Department (JCCFD) responded to a residential fire on the afternoon of Sunday, January 30.
At 4:59 p.m., JCC Emergency Communications received a call regarding a residential fire at the 100 block of Rain Tree Way in the Raintree Villas subdivision.
JCCFD, with the assistance of York County Department of Fire and Life Safety as well as the City of Williamsburg Fire Department, responded to the scene at 5:06 p.m. At that time, units found a two-story home with a fire on its second floor.
Crews were able to quickly contain the fire to the room of origin. However, the home sustained smoke and water damage.
JCCFD Chief Ryan Ashe notes that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
