REGIONAL — The U.S. National Weather Service in Wakefield, Va. (NWS Wakefield) has issued a Winter Storm Watch for southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina from Friday, Jan. 21 into Saturday morning, Jan. 22.
Snow is expected to develop across the area starting midday tomorrow (Jan. 20) through the evening rush hour. Light snowfall totals will average around an inch across the area.
More snow is expected for Saturday morning for the southern half of the area.
NWS Wakefield stated that now is the time for residents to prepare and re-schedule any planned travel. Additionally, residents should plan for hazardous weather and road conditions across the region for both the Thursday and Friday afternoon commutes.
