One man was injured and another was arrested following a shooting at a Second Street hotel Monday night.

Williamsburg Police responded to a hotel in the 300 block of Second Street around 11:45 p.m. Monday in connection with the shooting, according to a police news release.

After arriving at the hotel, police spoke to a witness and the 38-year-old victim. The victim had been shot in the arm after an argument with George Antonio Jimmison, 38, the release stated.

The men know each other and are acquaintances, but are not related, according to Maj. Greg Riley, police department spokesman.

Jimmison, a James City County resident, allegedly fired one round while the two were in the parking lot outside the hotel, Riley said.

The man was struck by a bullet, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening, Riley said. He was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

After the shot was fired, Jimmison fled the area in his vehicle, according to the release.

Police arrested Jimmison Tuesday morning around 8:25 a.m. at his residence in James City County.

James City County Police assisted in the arrested.

Jimmison is charged with three felonies, including aggravated assault, brandishing a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
