WILLIAMSBURG— 2nd Sundays is returning for its 17th season on Sunday, March 8 with some new partnerships to look forward to.

2nd Sundays is described as a street fair of 190 unique artisans, musicians, street performers, food vendors, food & dessert trucks & a beer/beverage garden near Stryker Main Stage (412 N Boundary) in 6 Blocks of downtown Williamsburg, Virginia along N. Boundary Street from Richmond Rd. to Lafayette Street, along Scotland from Boundary to N. Henry and in the 400 & 500 blocks of Prince George Street in Williamsburg, VA on the 2nd Sunday of each month from March until December.

“It feels like a bit of a family reunion,” said 2nd Sundays Shirley Vermillion about how it feels to return for this new season. “We miss the artists, they miss each other, they miss their customers. I miss seeing them.”

This year, 2nd Sundays and Williamsburg Downtown are partnering together to host a once-a-month information booth for visitors, sharing tips and opinions from a local perspective called “Local All Stars,” which will run during 2nd Sundays. This includes giving directions, helping people find information about the event or the downtown area, or directing them to resources where they can find the information they seek. 2nd Sundays says it isn’t to sell anything, only aiming to contribute to the spirit of neighborliness and downtown vibrancy, by offering the opportunity to ask a Local.

This year 2nd Sundays says it will also be featuring a variety of new artists that are touring with the help of John Womeldorf, such as Stillhouse Junkies from Colorado, later in the season.

“I always say that every 2nd Sundays is really a whole concert series in a day,” Vermillion said.

The event has also been approved for up to 14 food trucks throughout the festival. There will also be a variety of activities for children as well as children’s crafts, throughout the event.

As always, 2nd Sundays is a family-friendly event, and well-behaved pets are welcome to attend as well. The event also encourages parking in the Prince George Street parking garage or taking a WATA shuttle to the event. The festival starts at 11 a.m., but says attendees are welcome to arrive early to grab a bite to eat for an early breakfast or coffee at Instrumental Coffee or another of the local businesses.

The event will last until 4 p.m. and is free to attend. Visit the official 2nd Sunday’s website for more information.
