WILLIAMSBURG — Strangeways Brewing will be hosting a book fair for adults May 31 “to help bring back some of the nostalgia from childhood.”
After hosting events including the adult Easter Egg Hunt and adult prom, Strageways wanted another event to help guests feel like kids again. Its goal for the adult book fair is for it to be nostalgic like a Scholastic Book Fair, only with fewer cafeteria tables and more craft beer.
Similar events will be occurring at the Fredericksburg and Richmond locations before the event in Williamsburg, and the vendors at those events are similar to what they hope to curate for the local event — local authors, romance novels, collectors of vintage books, bookmarks and possibly a mobile bookstore.
“In today’s day and age, we’re just bringing back holding that actual book in your hand and finding that hidden gem,” said Lauren Kuske, Strangeways Brewing’s Event Coordinator. “Just want to bring the community together, support local authors, and have the adults feel that nostalgia again.”
The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. May 31. For more information about Strangeways and upcoming events, please visit the official website.
