NEWPORT NEWS — The Virginia Living Museum is sending Stallone to Alligator Adventure in Myrtle Beach next week.
Not Rocky, Stallone the alligator.
The museum’s Cypress Swamp exhibit comfortably holds alligators up to 6 feet and as of June — Stallone weighs approximately 40 pounds and is 5.5 feet long, said Kortney Jaworski, the museum’s senior herpetology keeper.
Stallone was picked up in Virginia Beach by the Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries in May 2012 and herpetologists named him Stallone because of his crooked smile and misaligned jaw, Jaworski said.
Stallone leaves the Virginia Living Museum’s Cypress Swamp, 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. on Nov. 13.
