NEWPORT NEWS — The Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an open house and concert next week.
The Downing-Gross’ annual open house event will feature art demonstrations, live performances, a scavenger hunt and other activities, according to a news release from the city.
Participants who complete the scavenger hunt can enter a raffle to win a pair of tickets to the 10th anniversary concert.
Kindred the Family Soul and other artists, including two young girls discovered at the August talent show, will perform at the anniversary concert at the Ella Fitzgerald Theater.
Both events are open to the public and will be on Oct. 13 at the Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center, 2410 Wickham Ave.
The annual open house will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the 10th anniversary concert will be from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. RSVP is not required for the open house, however tickets are required for the concert.
