NEWPORT NEWS — Thanks to a grant from Dominion Energy, patrons of the Virginia Living Museum will learn about environmental conservation firsthand.
Dominon Energy gave the Virginia Living Museum $9,500 to fund five pop-up discovery stations, according to a news release from Dominion.
The pop-up discovery stations are mobile exhibits with interactive displays on renewable energy, aquatic environments, reptiles and amphibians, native Virginia animals and ozone gardens, according to the news release.
“We interact with nearly 300,000 adults and children each year,” said Rebecca Kleinhample, the museum’s executive director. “One of our goals is to create citizen scientists who will embrace conservation efforts and activities after they leave the museum and these Discovery Stations align perfectly with that long-term mission.”
The first pop-up station will be ready in early July.
