Hampton’s Performing & Creative Arts Center for young people is moving to a new location after closing to the public on June 25.
The current programs housed in the center will be moved to the Hampton Arts Commission, a public/private partnership that supports artistic and cultural programs in the city, according to a news release.
The Hampton Aquatics Center, which was at the same location as Hampton’s Performing & Creative Arts Center on 300 Butler Farm Road, will remain open to the public for classes, programs and other events.
The only change to the aquatics center: Beginning July 2, patrons will enter through the side entrance, according to the city.
As far as Hampton’s Performing & Creative Arts Center staff is concerned, they will remain on site until June 30.
The Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services Department may continue some arts-related activities in other locations.
Later this summer, Hampton Police will begin using the former Arts Center as a training facility.
