HAMPTON — There was an unusual find on North Mallory Street on Monday.
Authorities were notified of human bones found on the 1300 block of North Mallory Street at 9 a.m., said Hampton Police spokesman, Sgt. M.J. Bond.
The Norfolk Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the bones were human remains, according to police.
A Richmond Medical Examiner’s anthropologist said the remains appear to be historical, therefore the investigation has been turned over to the State Historical Archaeologist Department, police said.
Further information about the find was not immediately released.
