NORFOLK— After success in 2025, the Norfolk Admirals brought back its City Series initiative in 2026. This season will see the Norfolk team compete as the Yorktown Admirals on Feb. 21 for one night only.

Designed in 2025 to bring hockey to all fans in Hampton Roads, the city series highlights areas throughout the region during the hockey season. The event in 2026 will be the second time that Yorktown is being represented by the team.

“Our continued collaboration with the Norfolk Admirals reflects the strong sense of community pride that defines York County,” said Kristi Olsen-Hayes, Director of York County Economic & Tourism Development. “This partnership honors Yorktown’s rich history while creating exciting opportunities that bring residents and visitors together to celebrate, connect, and make lasting memories.”

During the game on Feb. 21 at 7:05 p.m., Norfolk’s Scope Arena will be transformed to represent all things York County. York County Fire and Life Safety and York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office vehicles will be out on the Scope Arena plaza, the Fife and Drums of York Town and children from Tabb Middle School Choir will sing during the game, and the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety Honor Guard and the York Poquoson Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard will present the colors.

Ticketholders will also have the opportunity to contribute to Visit Williamsburg’s Great American Birthday Quilt, a patriotic project that brings the community (and its creativity) together. Individual quilt squares created at the event will be stitched into a large display, which will be unveiled later in 2026 at the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center.

A limited selection of Yorktown Admirals specialty merchandise will also be available for purchase at the game. Game-worn players’ jerseys will be sold at auction prior to and after the game.

Tickets are on sale for a discounted rate for York County residents through this link.

After the game, attendees are invited to take the ice themselves and skate around, meet Norfolk Admirals players, and take pictures with Salty Dog, the Admirals mascot. This free activity includes complimentary skate rentals or guests may bring their own.
