WILLIAMSBURG — After many years serving the Williamsburg community, the La Tienda Tapas Bar & Retail Store location in Williamsburg announced it is transforming into something new.
The restaurant is closed through January for a period of remodeling and rebranding, which will usher in a new chapter, with a new name: Saudade
Under the continued ownership of Chef Greg Mincher, Saudade will welcome guests with a broader Mediterranean-inspired menu, it said.
As part of this transition, La Tienda will no longer be associated with the restaurant, and the La Tienda retail store at the location has permanently closed.
La Tienda shared how grateful they are to their Williamsburg guests and neighbors for their loyalty and support over the years, and described how serving the community and sharing the flavors of Spain have been a privilege. They also expressed well wishes to Chef Greg and his team as they begin this new chapter with Saudade.
For local La Tienda customers looking for their favorite Spanish specialties — jamón, chorizo, cheeses, olive oils, conservas, gifts, and more — La Tienda said it will continue to serve customers nationwide through tienda.com.
La Tienda is considering options for opening a new retail space in the Williamsburg area, and said it will share more as plans are finalized.
