
WILLIAMSBURG — As part of our countdown to 2026, WYDaily is revisiting its most-read and favorite stories of the year.
Coming in at No. 5, the September announcement that the U.S. Army was prepping to inactivate U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) on Sept. 26, part of a U.S. Army merger that had been in talks at the Pentagon since May.
TRADOC, responsible for overseeing the training, education and development of soldiers, was set to merge with Army Futures Command. Together, the two will form Army Transformation and Training Command, which will be located in Austin, Texas.
