JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County announced that its emergency curbside recycling contract with Tidewater Fibre Corporation has been extended through June 30.
The collection schedule will stay the same. The county said it continues to work through a competitive bid process for a long-term provider.
The Virginia Peninsulas Public Service Authority Board of Directors voted in September to terminate its curbside recycling contract with TFC, effective Sept. 30. VPPSA is the regional waste authority.
Bills sent out on Dec. 17 include a $5.25 credit per cart due to the service interruption that occurred in October, the county said.
The county thanked residents for their patience and encouraged visiting jamescitycountyva.gov/recycling, calling the county’s recycling hotline at 757-253-6700 or emailing jccrecycling@jamescitycountyva.gov to find the most up-to-date information.
