WILLIAMSBURG — Cook’s Burger Bar’s Midtown Row location is celebrating the holiday season in an over-the-top way, transforming into a retro-themed Christmas experience.
Andy Wass, director of brands and digital marketing for Against the Grain Restaurants, spoke to WYDaily about the transformation.
“This holiday season, Miracle at Midtown is an all-new Christmas takeover inspired by the character, comfort, and unapologetic charm of classic American dive bars. Drawing on atmosphere and attitude from beloved haunts in the Midwest and small towns across the U.S., Miracle at Midtown blends gritty nostalgia with over-the-top holiday cheer to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas bar experience,” Waas explained.
From now until the end of the year, the Cook’s Midtown location will offer specialty-themed cocktails, including last year’s popular Cousin Eddie’s Eggnog, which will be served in moose mugs, World’s Best Cup of Coffee and the Williamsburg Wassail. There will also be food, including the return of last year’s popular Wellington Burger, and Chilly Whip’s, a milkshake special themed to the holiday season.
Additionally, the team at Cook’s is looking into planning a few one-off holiday event nights, including a possible holiday movie night on the location’s patio. More events are also being planned and those interested in attending are advised to keep an eye on the Cook’s website and Facebook page.
“We wanted to build the kind of bar you swear you’ve been in before — only absolutely blasted with Christmas spirit,” said Brok Kellogg, Director of Operations for Cook’s. “We leaned into the cozy grit of classic neighborhood taverns and the gaudy magic of the holidays we grew up with to give Williamsburg something truly one-of-a-kind.”
Cook’s Burger Bar’s Midtown restaurant is located at 1246 Richmond Road in Williamsburg.
