JAMES CITY COUNTY — Kids from around James City County got up close and personal with their local law enforcement officers at the spirited tradition of Halloween with Heroes.
The inspiration for Halloween with Heroes came from the Chief of Police’s secretary. The idea was to create an opportunity for kids to get to interact with police in a positive, non-threatening way.
From police vehicles, the SWAT truck, the Dive Team boat, the James City County Fire Department, and even the new James City County Police K-9 Unit, officers and volunteers handed out candy, stickers, pencils and more to the kids in attendance.
Once dark, kids also had the opportunity to see the lights of all the apparatus turned on as they made their way around the various tables.
