JAMES CITY COUNTY — Children from ages 8-15, are you ready for it? Swiftie Camp is back at Jamestown 4H Educational Center and invitations are going fast.
After hosting the camp in 2023, the Taylor fans at Jamestown 4H Educational Center wanted to bring the event back to help celebrate Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
“In 2023, it truly felt like a concert. To see all these young children know every word of every song and get so excited to see her on the big screen, you really felt this really great energy around her,” said Aggie Morris, Development Director of the center.
On Dec. 13, Swifties can join Jamestown 4H Educational Center as it goes through the Eras. From Fearless to Reputation, Swifties are encouraged to come dressed in their Taylor best, friendship bracelets, sequins, glitter and all things sparkly.
Upon arrival to camp, Swifties will have their VIP badges scanned by the Official Taylor Swift Security Team to be cleared for admission backstage. Once behind the scenes, paparazzi will be snapping away for a red carpet photo-op. Guests will also get to dine on Taylor’s favorite food (chicken tenders).
During the camp, Taylor fans will visit various stations ranging from temporary tattoos, to coloring, to friendship bracelet making. The evening will also include hits from all of Taylor’s albums, plenty of singing, dancing and energy. The camp will also have “The Eras Tour” film playing on a loop throughout the night.
Each VIP attendee will also receive a Swifite Passport, where they can earn stickers at all the booths backstage. Once completed, they will become certified Swiftie Explorers.
Dec. 13 is also a special day for Taylor as she marks her 36th birthday. Those backstage at Swiftie camp are in for a treat as birthday cake will be provided to all attendees. While Taylor herself will not be in attendance, campers will still be able to sing Happy Birthday to the star.
Stephanie Smith, Director of Community Engagement and Group Services, is looking forward to seeing the excitement of the campers.
“The energy was incredibly high in 2023. The best part was truly that the counselors were as into it as the campers were. There are not many things in this world that an eight-year-old can have in common with a 25-year-old, and Taylor Swift is one of those things. I want them to feel like they are at a concert and that our children make lifelong friends because of this common interest,” Smith said.
Swiftie Camp will be held Dec. 13-14 and is an overnight experience. Drop off on Dec. 13 is at 5 p.m. and pickup on Dec. 14 is 10 a.m. Both dinner and a grab-and-go breakfast are included.
