WILLIAMSBURG — On Sunday, Alewerks on Ewell Road hosted a festival complete with sweet treats, live music, vendors and plenty of magic to celebrate the birthday of Harry Potter.
Vendors came with Harry Potter-themed merchandise, some of which included cups, stuffed animals, Legos and handmade baked goods. Participants were offered free cupcakes to begin Harry Potter’s Birthday Celebration.
Potter’s Birthday was established in “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” (Published as “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the United States), when he receives his letter of acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on his 11th birthday.
Excitement for the wizarding franchise is expected to experience a resurgence in light of the upcoming Harry Potter series on HBO.
