JCC Receives Community Development Block Grant for Moses Lane Improvement Project

(James City County)

JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County announced funding from a Community Development Block Grant announced in February by Gov. Glenn Youngkin will support the Moses Lane Improvement Project.

The county said the $1,133,079 in funding will support three critical efforts:

  • Road Improvements: Paving the existing gravel portion of Moses Lane to meet VDOT standards, relieving residents of ongoing maintenance responsibilities.
  • Housing Rehabilitation: Upgrading four homes to ensure they are safe and suitable for low- to moderate-income households.
  • Neighborhood Cleanup: Assisting residents in removing unsightly trash and debris.

The project is being administered by the County’s Neighborhood Development and Housing Office, which will also oversee the rehabilitation work.

The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development recommended this project for approval and will monitor both the use of funds and project progress, according to the county.
