Williamsburg Whiskey and Wine Weekend to Take Place June 27-29

WILLIAMSBURG — A weekend of whiskey and wine-centered events are set to take place throughout the City of Williamsburg June 27-29 as part of a themed weekend of programming highlighting Williamsburg restaurants and businesses.

Featured events include:

  • A guided international Pinot Noir tasting with traveling wine expert Matt Earnhardt hosted by the Blue Talon Bistro.
  • The 20th Anniversary weekend celebration at Copper Fox Distillery, including food trucks and live music.
  • Cocktail classes hosted by expert bartender and William & Mary alum Greg Benson within The Study speakeasy space of Amber Ox.
  • A free stand-up comedy showcase after hours at the Merchants Square illy Caffé.
  • A “design your own wine goblet” paint and sip event provided by Paint on Pottery.
  • A themed trivia competition hosted by SpeedQuizzing VA at the downtown Williamsburg Winery tasting room.
  • Free film screenings of the James Bond film “Skyfall” and the wine country film “Sideways.”
  • Special wine and mead tastings hosted by local businesses including Three Sisters Boutique and Brick & Vine.
  • Unique themed meal, drink, and shopping specials hosted by locations including the DoG Street Gastro Pub, Revolution Golf and Grille and The Peanut Shop of Williamsburg.

Events are taking place at a dozen locations throughout the City of Williamsburg. Some are ticketed or require reservations, while others are free and open to walk-in guests.

Guests will also have the opportunity to earn a commemorative Whiskey & Wine Weekend branded glass by checking in to participating locations throughout the City as part of a digital pass provided in partnership with Visit Williamsburg.

The primary sponsor of the weekend is the City of Williamsburg, and the event is being produced by AVAdventure Productions, a Williamsburg production company.

“From tastings to live entertainment, this weekend has something for any adults interested in diving deeper into the worlds of whiskey or wine,” said Liz Sykes, event producer. “We look forward to seeing people enjoying these events throughout the city at the end of June.”
