(York County)

YORK COUNTY — York County is inviting residents and visitors to commemorate Juneteenth at a family-friendly celebration Saturday, June 14 at the McReynolds Athletic Complex Soccer Fields.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, marks the end of slavery in the United States. York County said the event is an opportunity for the community “to come together in unity, remembrance, and joy while honoring African American culture and heritage.”

The fourth annual free and alcohol-free community event promises a day filled with music, culture and fun for all ages, according to the county. Festivities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and continue into the evening, culminating in a high-energy concert from local artists SLAPNATION from 7 to 9 p.m.
