WILLIAMSBURG — Housing Partnerships Inc. will celebrate its 40th anniversary providing home repair and housing solutions to low-income residents in the Historic Triangle with its 3rd Annual Food Truck Festival and Concert on June 15.
Founded in 1985, HPI notes it has installed hundreds of accessibility ramps, repaired thousands of homes, provided emergency services and launched programs such as the Rapid Wheelchair Response Program and the Aging in Place Initiative, which have aided aging homeowners to remain in their residences.
“This milestone is more than a celebration of years — it’s a celebration of people,” Brandie Weiler, Executive Director of Housing Partnerships, said. “This 40th anniversary is about people, volunteers, donors, contractors, partners who have helped make 40 years of service possible. Together, we’ve made homes safer, warmer and more accessible for our neighbors.”
Housing Partnerships will kick off its anniversary celebration with its 3rd Annual Food Truck Festival and Concert June 15. According to its Facebook event page, the ticketed fundraiser will feature nine food trucks, ’80s band The Deloreans and take place at 401 N Boundary St. in Williamsburg. Tickets went on sale April 1.
From grassroots beginnings, the organization has grown to establish partnerships with local governments, faith-based groups and volunteers to tackle housing insecurity and improve lives, according to HPI. Weiler’s goal is to continue moving forward.
“The housing needs in our region are growing,” Weiler said. “And so is our resolve to meet them head-on with compassion, integrity and action.”
