Wozniak, Burke Lead W&M Women’s Gymnastics in Home Opener Versus Temple

WILLIAMSBURG— Senior Sarah Wozniak and junior Hannah Burke claimed shares of individual event titles to lead the William & Mary women’s gymnastics team in its home opener against Temple, but the Tribe fell to the Owls, 193.000-190.000, at Kaplan Arena on Monday evening.

Wozniak tied for first on bars with a 9.775, while Burke shared the floor title with a 9.750.

Senior Catherine Bare, senior Caroline Blatchford and junior Michelle Ngo also posted top-three finishes with third-place efforts on bars (9.750), beam (9.725) and floor (9.725), respectively.
Senior Sarah Kuper posted the Tribe’s top score on vault with a 9.575.
As a team, W&M defeated Temple on floor with a 48.550 and earned a season-high on beam (48.300).
The Tribe will return to action later this week when it competes at the Towson Invite on Friday at 7 p.m.
