Elizabeth Friel is the executive director of the Historic Virginia Land Conservancy (HVLC). The organization’s fourth annual Friends and Family Fall Festival is Sunday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Freedom Park’s Free Black Settlement area. The event is free and open to anyone, and will offer food, refreshments and family-friendly entertainment. HVLC is a non-profit conservation in its 35th year of conserving land in the Historic Triangle and the region.
