WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary baseball’s Nate Knowles will represent the Tribe at the fourth annual MLB Draft Combine at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., from June 18-23. The Combine will feature 319 Draft-eligible prospects, and Knowles is one of 193 collegiate prospects who received an invite.
Knowles’ junior season culminated in a growing list of national and conference honors as he was named an All-American by two publications, becoming the first All-American pitcher in W&M history. He was also tabbed CAA Pitcher of the Year and a first-team All-CAA selection.
The righty fanned a whopping 112 batters over 80 innings of work, marking the fourth-most single-season strikeouts in program history. Joining elite company, Knowles sits among just 12 players who have eclipsed the 86-mark in a season, seven of whom went on to get drafted, including 2004 first-round pick Bill Bray.
MLB Network will have exclusive coverage live from Chase Field. More information on the 2024 MLB Draft Combine coverage can be found here.
The 2024 MLB Draft will take place in Arlington, Texas, on July 14-16. A year ago, the Tribe saw a pair of MLB Draft picks in the top eight rounds, including Ben Williamson at overall pick No. 57 to the Seattle Mariners, the second highest selection in program history.
