Yorktown Christmas Market (provided by York County)

YORKTOWN — Yorktown’s popular Christmas Market on Main Street returns Dec. 3-4.

Vendors, artists, food trucks, strolling musicians, and antique cars will line the street in Historic Yorktown, according to a press release from York County Public Affairs. There will also be chestnuts roasting on an open fire, free kids’ activities, a performance by the Fifes and Drums of York Town, and a visit from Santa himself.

Due to the event’s popularity, it has been extended in recent years to two days. The nearly 100 vendors will sell everything from nautical paintings, candles, and bath bombs to holiday spices, Christmas ornaments, and merry mosaics, according to the announcement.

Guests will also be able to choose from a variety of menu options from Historic Yorktown dining establishments and other food vendors, including clam chowder, lobster rolls and fried fish; BBQ; funnel cakes, cotton candy and kettle corn; tacos and burritos; hot dogs; and hot beverages.

The Peninsula Model Train Club will have a display in the lower level of York Hall on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and York County Fire & Life Safety will have the department’s oldest fire truck, a 1955 Dodge, parked at the corner of Main and Nelson Streets for most of the day.

Santa will be located by the fire truck on Saturday, and on Sunday he’ll be sharing cookies with children in York Hall from 1-4 p.m.

The market will be open on Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information check out the Yorktown official webpage.
