An Occasion for the Arts Canceled Due to Threat of Hurricane Ian

WILLIAMSBURG — An Occasion for the Arts, which was scheduled for this weekend in Merchants Square, is canceled due to the threat posed by Hurricane Ian.

In addition, all events related to An Occasion for the Arts, including An Evening for the Arts, is canceled as well. All ticket holders will be contacted shortly by festival staff, the organization said in a press release.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce that An Occasion for the Arts 2022 has been canceled as a result of Hurricane Ian,” said Nancy Wigley, President of the festival’s Executive Board. “That includes all AOFTA events from Friday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 2. We are strong and resilient, and we will return next year.” 

Patrons can still view the artists and their work at AOFTA.org.
