James City County Good Neighbor Grant Applications Available Aug. 1

JAMES CITY COUNTY — Neighborhood associations looking to spruce up their grounds in James City County may apply for Good Neighbor Grants starting Aug. 1

Matching grant awards up to $500 will be available to enhance the sense of community and sustainability of neighborhoods through the development and accomplishment of an environmentally sustainable landscape beautification project, according to the county.

Previous grants benefitted the restoration of a stormwater sediment basin, installation of a free-standing library, installation of a pet waste station, planting native and pollinator-friendly plants, and performing litter cleanups.

Grant award amounts will be contingent upon the number of applications received and available funding. For more information and project ideas, prospectives should visit here.

The Good Neighbor Grant application opens Aug. 1. To be considered, prospectives should complete the Good Neighbor Grant Application. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 15.

Grants may be submitted online by emailing the completed application to SustainabilityCoordinator@jamescitycountyva.gov or by mailing it to or dropping it off at 107 Tewning Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
