The Williamsburg Regional Library will host its first-ever Anime Con, an afternoon celebrating all things anime, at the Williamsburg Library, the Stryker Center, and City Square on June 5 from 1-5 p.m.

Anime Con will feature a traditional Japanese drum performance by River City Taiko Drumming in City Square, a cosplay contest with prizes, and open gameplay with GameTruck Richmond’s mobile video game center.

Special guests will include Animation Instructor Anh Do of Virginia State University and Japanese culture expert Dr. Michael Cronin of the College of William & Mary, as well as cosplay artists Sage Cross, Chloe Muro, and Frostfyre, who will share their experiences with the art in a panel discussion.

A vendors gallery will be open in the Stryker Center with local manga and anime vendors.
