Schooner Alliance to host Pirate Adventure Cruises
Beginning Saturday, April 2, the Yorktown-based Schooner Alliance will host its popular Pirate Adventure Cruises. James City County Parks and Recreation to Hold Pop Up Hiring Event
Open interviews will be offered on Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Rd. James City County (JCC) Parks and Recreation is hiring for seasonal positions (April-September) at Jamestown Beach and the JCC Marina. Interviews will take place outside near the concessions building at the park. Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the time of hire, and successfully complete a drug test and a background check. Applicants are asked to apply in advance here.
Local Home-Based Business Lunch to Host Virtual Lunch and Learn Series
The Peninsula Home-Based Business Network (HBBN) will host a virtual Lunch & Learn Series on April 13 from noon to 1 p.m via Zoom.
Jamie Shoemaker, an attorney with Patten, Wornom, Hatten and Diamonstein will give a lecture on understanding contracts. There is no cost to attend this workshop but prior registration is required.

York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office issues Traffic Alert for Yorktown on Saturday
York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Offices said that motorists should expect delays, congestion and intermittenent lane closures near Yorktown Beach, Cook Road, Ballard Street and the Coast Guard Training Center on Saturday, April 2 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Yorktown YMCA will be holding the 7th Annual Victory at Yorktown 5K, 10K and one mile fun runs.
