This June, the Greater Williamsburg Business Council invites the community to attend two very important events. First, the Small Business of the Year Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 24th at 3 PM. We encourage you to join the virtual ceremony as the Economic Growth Committee announces and recognizes the Small Business of the Year and Early Stage Small Business of the Year. RSVP today for the call details.
Additionally, we invite you to attend the 2021 Annual Meeting online June 29th at 3 PM. We will carry out the installation of officers, review the annual report, and present
awards. Those who join the call will also be entered to win a variety of raffle prizes throughout the meeting! RSVP in advance for the call details.
As we gear up for summer, the Greater Williamsburg Business Council is also working to create opportunities for in-person connection. This includes our classic Morning Blend, a Women’s Business Council High Tea at Spoke & Art, and more.
We are excited to offer a new series of networking picnics called Business in a Basket. The first picnic was held at Veterans Park with meals catered by Divine Lunches. Our next picnic is on the calendar for Wednesday, June 23rd at 12 PM, and ticket sales are live! This time, members are invited to come networking at Ironbound Park with lunch catered by Baker’s Crust. Interested in joining us? Check out the event on our calendar.
The Business Council’s Health Committee is currently accepting nominations for the 2021 Health Promoter of the Year Award. Acknowledging that health is not merely about individual choices but also about having access and opportunity to make healthy choices, the Health Promoter Award recognizes individuals, civic groups, or businesses that go above and beyond to create opportunities for members of our community to live healthier lives. The community is invited to offer nominations, given that the nominee is a member of the Business Council and that they do not receive monetary compensation for health-related services. Submit your nominations online by July 15th, 2021.
ASPIRE is hosting a free Bingo Night at the Virginia Beer Company for local young professionals. It will be on Thursday, June 17th at 5 PM, and NOSH Modern Mobile Bistro will be onsite with creative, globally-inspired, locally-sourced eats. Arrive at 5 PM for networking, and then be ready for bingo to begin at 5:30. RSVP in advance to reserve your spot!
